Hi, I’m Rob, and I’ve been drumming since the early 80s–I was a bona fide member of the Hair-Metal generation, and when I wasn’t teaching, I spent my time playing and touring, covering everything from AC/DC to Zeppelin.

The hair and Spandex are gone, but I can still play, and I really enjoy teaching, so I decided that the time was right to start RocktheDrums.

This is the official website for the RocktheDrums Studio–a drum studio for teaching and recording located in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

The site has evolved since inception and won’t and shouldn’t be about me, but more about RocktheDrums as a studio and website, promoting lessons and teaching serving as an online resource, promoting great drumming, music, rating drum gear at Drum Check while documenting the sound proofing and acoustic treatment process for the RTD studios.

You will also find useful links and recommendations to vendors who can help you rock the drums!

 

Oh, and for a laugh, here’s a really old (back in the 80s), badly filmed, horrible sounding, live video of me with the aforementioned hair and Spandex way, way back in the day–if this doesn’t get you in the mood to rock the drums…
